Nagovor: g. Karel PIEBER, cm na srečanju v Ljubljani (28. 5. 2016) in Dobovi (29. 5. 2016)

Nagovor:

Uvod in sklepi našega nedavnega mednarodnega zbora v Rimu, novembra 2014, dajejo jasno smer Združenju na vseh ravneh in v vseh krajih sveta.

ki vedno reče »DA« Bogu;
ki vedno reče »DA« skrivnosti, vsemu neznanemu v njenem življenju;
ki vedno reče »DA« trpljenju v njenem življenju;
ki vedno reče »DA« tistim s strtim srcem;
ki vedno reče »DA« tistim, ki jočejo, so ranjeni in žalujejo;
ki vedno reče »DA« priseljencem in beguncem;

O sveta Skrinja zaveze, naredi nas podobne tebi!

O, Slava Izraela in Sedež modrosti, bodi naše veselje!

S to svetinjo bomo nosilci usmiljenja.

O sočutna in nežna Devica, naredi nas za zavetje ranjenih!

Introduction to the Lines of Action 7/8/2016

Talk in Slovenia

The Introduction and Lines of Action of our recent International Assembly in Rome in November 2014, gives definite direction to the Association at every level and in every part of the world. More importantly and most necessarily, this direction comes from the Apparition of The Blessed Mother to St. Catherine Laboure in 1830. It is the question of the heart of every person who wears now or did wear the Miraculous Medal since 1830. “What will happen when we put this medal around our necks?”

The Assembly tried to start the answer to that question in the introduction of its document called “Lines of Action”. I would like to read this to you now.

The Miraculous Medal is a great evangelizing and transforming force for all who wear it with faith. To come to the foot of the altar, to receive the abundance of the graces of God through Mary, fortifies us in a world  hungry for justice and mercy. Since 1909, we, the members of the Miraculous Medal Association, consciously aware of Mary as our Mother, promote Mary's request to St Catherine Laboure in 1830 - to wear this medal of her image. With this gift of God through Mary, we give the medal as ministry to all, especially the poor, the sick, the thirsty, the hungry, the naked, the oppressed, the imprisoned and all who seek the Kingdom of God. (Mt. 25: 31-46). The fruits of this ministry that is, the deeper love of God experienced in the poor, evangelizes us to receive God more fully, thus impelling creativity in our ministry unto infinity. This introduction can only begin to give us a simple answer. Those who wear the Miraculous Medal begin to become, to live the person of Mary Immaculate on earth. The wearing of the Miraculous Medal begins to make us totally like Mary today. What does it mean to be totally like Mary today?

Mary is the one:

Who says “YES” to God, always;

Who says “Yes” to mystery, to the unknown in her life, always;

Who says “Yes” to suffering in her life, always;

Who says “Yes” to the broken hearted, always;

Who says “Yes” to those who cry and are hurt, who mourn, always;

Who says “Yes” to the immigrant, always;

Who says “Yes” to the homeless, always;

And who says “Yes” always to the imprisoned, the hungry and the naked. Use,

For Mary lived all of these things in her life with her Son Jesus Christ and her Spouse, Joseph. As did Mary, only more slowly, we become the image of God, the image of love, in the compassion of a woman clothed with the sun. On the medal and in many of her statues, Her arms reach out to hug us into her Son, and make us the flesh and blood of Jesus Christ given to the world for others.

The Introduction and Lines of Action begin to concretely tell us what it means to wear the Miraculous Medal and be a member of the Association:

1. The Miraculous Medal is an evangelizing tool. Handing it to people shows we care particularly for them and it shows them what our faith is. This is the faith of Life. It is Mary and her arms wide open to all. It is the sign that evil is trampled on meaning that every misery will come to an end. And that no sin is too great for God’s love and mercy. And finally it is the sign and faith that Jesus Christ died and rose for all people, and with Mary, Loves them from their sacred hearts on that medal. What a wonderful gift from God to others: Mary and her family, Mary’s Miraculous Medal Family – us.

2. The Miraculous Medal is a transforming force for all who wear it. We are changed, stopped in our thought, every time that we touch this medal or become aware of it around our necks. Mary and God instantly jump  into our consciousness. We are reminded that we are children of God and of Mary our mother. We love God and our Mother and want to be with both of them. We love what they say to us. We love that they always  forgive us and constantly call us to come home, to be with them. With that confidence, we are transformed to live anew with every breath. We are able to transform others to whom we give this medal. O most  powerful Virgin, who loves us, give us your power to give our love to the world.

3. We cannot wear the medal without thinking where it came from. We instantly know of the apparition of Mary to St. Catherine Laboure and what Mary said to her: “Come to the foot of the altar…” This phrase calls us to pray. It means that there must be PRAYER in our lives. We must talk with our Mother Mary and our brother Jesus Christ. This is most powerful when we come and pray in front of the Eucharist or at Mass. Mary is asking us to participate in the Mass which is the act of redemption of her son Jesus Christ. What an invitation for us medal wearers – come to eternal life.

4. Wearing the medal tells us that we belong to Mary and her Son Jesus Christ. Can we ever forget her promise we who wear her medal: “Many graces will be given to those who ask with confidence.” Grace is God’s life. Only Mary can ask God the Father and her Son Jesus Christ to give us God’s life like she had it (and still has it now) .on that day when she said, “Let it be done unto me according to Your Word, O God.” The medal around our neck fortifies our mind that we can speak boldly and act lovingly always. Mary helps us make Jesus Christ, in his grace, present in our lives.

O Holy Ark of the Covenant, make us like you.

5. Wearing the medal tells everyone that God’s Love and Mary’s compassion, are our lifeblood. Our lives, lived in the consecration to Mary, become a vessel of selfless devotion to others. Like Mary, we live by the grace  if God and are a Mirror of Justice. Through Mary, God began His Kingdom on Earth in Jesus Christ, Our Lord, and through Mary in us, God continues the fulfillment of this Kingdom.

O Glory of Israel and Throne of Wisdom, be the Cause of our Joy.

6. The Miraculous Medal calls us to act with mercy and to act with compassion. Like Mary, we no longer ask, “Who is our neighbor? or who is our family?.” Our neighbor and our family are the person next to us and the people that God brings into our lives. It is the woman who lost her only child through violence or the man who lost his wife to cancer. It is the sinner everywhere who lives on hatred. Only mercy and compassion like Mary had, can start to heal these wounds. With this medal we will wear that Mercy.

O Virgin gentle in Mercy, make us the comfort of the afflicted.

7. Finally our statutes call us to give this medal as a ministry. Though it may be an excuse to open the door, it is a tool of evangelization in disguise. We have something to start the conversation to help people relate again  to us and to God. This medal is Miraculous because it reminds others and brings them back to the faith. Confessions are heard and people touch the welcoming arms of Mary on this medal, overflowing with God’s love. Giving the medal is faith sharing. When we share our faith and give it to others in this medal, God does wonderful things in us.

In conclusion, by taking this Miraculous Medal and using it for our reason to encounter another, we become more like Mary. She, who gave everything to God – her life to be God’s mother and then gave up her motherhood at the request of her son to be our mother, she now gives us that omnipotent power, the power that comes when we take a step of courage to another to give them a medal of love – the love of Mary for us and the Love of God in our hearts.

O Mary conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee.
